SSC CGL Tier 1 Results with Marks: The SSC CGL Results 2018 for Tier-I has announced the Staff Selection Commission of India. The SSC CGL Tier-1 exam was held from 5th August to 23rd August 2018. The result was declared on 30th October 2018.

The total number of candidates registered for this exam is 30, 26,599. Whereas the number of candidates appeared in this exam is 15, 43, 962 and the examination was conducted in 43 batches across the country. After the completion of the examination, the commission has released the tentative answer key for inviting the challenges from the candidates on 8th September 2018.

Selection Procedure for SSC CGL 2018

The exam conducted in the four stages Tier I, II, III and IV with a high score to get a rank on the merit list. The recruitment of the candidates will be done Group B in Central vigilance commission, Ministry of Railway, Ministry of External Affairs, CAG, Intelligence Bureau, AFHQ, Controller of General of account, Central Bureau of Narcotics, Central Excise, CBI, Central Police Organization etc. The selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s rank and post applied.

Stages of the SSC Selection Procedure 2018

Stage 1 : Tier I Online Test
Stage 2 : Tier II Online Test
Stage 3 : Tier III Descriptive Test
Stage 4 : Tier IV Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

Tier 1 Online Test

  • This test is taken to check the basic understanding of the candidates. 
  • The exam is taken in the computer-based mode the total marks of this exam is 200.
  • Total marks of this exam are 200 all the questions are objective multiple choice questions.
  • The marks scored by the candidate in Tier 1 will be considered into account for ranking.
  • This exam will take into consideration for selecting candidates for Descriptive Test and Computer Proficiency Tests.
  • The candidate who clears the Tier-1 is eligible to appear in the Tier-II.


Tier II Online Test

  • This examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions with maximum marks 800.
  • This exam has total four papers in total and the time duration for each paper is two hours. Out of these four two papers are compulsory for all. Paper three is for the candidates who applied for Statistical Investigator (Junior Statistical Officer). The paper four is for those who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit Officer in C&AG.
  • The candidates who qualify the Tier-II will be eligible to appear in the Tier-III exam 2018.
  • The marks scored by the candidate in SSC CGL Tier II exam will get the weightage for final selection.


Tier III Descriptive Test

  • After qualifying Tier-I and II the candidate needs to appear in the descriptive test.
  • This test is taken in pen and paper mode and the total marks for this exam is 100.
  • The qualifying marks for this exam is 33%.
  • The main purpose of this exam is to check the writing skills of the candidates which are required for government jobs.


Tier-IV Data Entry Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test

  • The marks scored by the candidate in Tier I and II will determine the eligibility of the candidate to appear in Tier IV.
  • This tier of the exam will continue to be the DEST/CPT which is of a qualifying nature.
  • Note: The Paper-I will be standard level, Paper-II will be of 10+2 level and Paper-III and IV will be graduate level.


SSC CGL Tier-1 Cut off

As per the opinion of candidates, SSC CGL Tier-1 exam difficulty level has been increased. In most of the shifts, one or two sections were hard. SSC has released a Cut-off list of SSC CGL Tier-1 which is as follows.

In addition to the unreserved candidates 5270 given above, 1953-OBC, 256-SC, 57-ST, 9-OH candidates are provisionally qualified at UR Cut-off.


SSC CGL Tier-II 2018 Exam Result

The candidates who qualify Tier-1 are eligible to appear in the Tier-II examination. The results will be declared once the examination will be conducted by the SSC. 

SSC CGL Tier-III 2018 Exam Result

The results of the Tier-III exam of SSC CGL 2018 will be declared as the posts for which the exam is conducted.
